Hand cratfed by artisans in the Takashima county of Shiga prefecture in 1914. The artisanship has been passed down for 4 generations, polished, and refined as time passes.
Originally creating candles to be used on shrines, it is only recent years the family started to create candles for other (or all) occassions using the same traditional method of "Tegake"; an unique method of applying and dripping wax over the wick with barre hands, over and over. It is said to take 10 years to perfect this Tegake, and this method had already been carried out in the last 100+ years within the family.
